Pernod Ricard - St Hugo

The stunning St Hugo restaurant in the Barossa Valley hosted the World's Top 50 Restaurants Academy Chairs for lunch as part of their tour to South Australia.

I photographed the occasion for Pernod Ricard - beautiful food and wine, there were many languages spoken by the guests but I could tell they had a memorable afternoon.

BYLD - Minno Apartments

Commissioned by BYLD Constructions and captured 40m up in the air from a crane, this image is now taking pride of place in the display apartment for the Minno Apartments on Greenhill Rd overlooking the city of Adelaide and parklands in between - I love how it has been cleverly designed and installed by BigWig to give a real sense of the views that will be seen from the finished project. An attempt was made by another party to capture the scene by drone/UAV but the resolution needed for output of 20m wide required a different approach. From the crane I captured over 30 vertical images on my 36mp camera and then stitched them all together for the resulting panorama - clear detail can be seen of Torrens Island power station in the distance and signage on buildings in the city clearly read.

BAE Systems - Garden Island

BAE Systems manages a broad program of warship engineering services - these images were used to display the working relationship between BAE Systems and the Royal Australian Navy. Taken at Garden Island, Sydney around and aboard Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) ship HMAS Canberra

Zerella Fresh

One of Australia's major suppliers of fresh potatoes, carrots and onions, Zerella Fresh approached me to capture a refreshed image library to show their story both in studio and on location at Virginia and near Parilla in the Mallee region of South Australia. Of course the answer was always going to be "Yes!" when I was asked the question "Should I get the plane out of the shed so we can get some aerials of the pivots?"  I can happily report that their various varieties of potatoes are delicious mashed and baked!

The Rolls Royce Trent XWB engine of a Qatar Airways Airbus A350. This was the first arrival of the service to Adelaide Airport, a rainy day, you can make out the raindrops on top of the engine cowling. I love the play of the curves between the blades and the wing tip. I got a chance to go on board the aircraft - it's beautiful. Shot on a Nikon D800 and processed in Lightroom, Photoshop and Nik Silver Efex.

An aerial charter for Adelaide Airport at dusk to capture long shadows and depth around the airport precinct - I love the way the baggage train mimics the strong paint curves leading from the front of the two Qantas aircraft. This one really shows off the power combination of the Nikon D800 and 70-200mm VR2 lens that I usually use for aerial work, you can make out the rivets in the wings when you zoom right in! Processed in Lightroom and Photoshop.

One of my favourite engines, the GE Aviation GEnx. This is one of four that powers a Cathay Pacific Boeing 747-800F freighter. I love the technical drawing feel that the black and white treatment gave the image. Shot on a Nikon D800 and processed in Lightroom, Photoshop and Nik Silver Efex.

The long term car park at Adelaide Airport with a BAE146 aircraft. When flying at 500ft in a helicopter everything happens very fast below, you really trust your instincts for framing and subconsciously 'seeing' - this was captured during a charter to photograph the new solar installation on the roof of the Adelaide Airport carpark as well as various sites around the airport precinct for both Solgen and the airport . I really like the strong opposing shadows from the floodlights (and the cars that look like Matchbox toys!). Shot on a Nikon D800 and processed in Lightroom and Photoshop.
